Getting water you can drink requires digging or drilling down into water-bearing rock. The spiritual life is the same way. If you stay at the surface, you won’t be able to quench your thirst. It takes effort, and sometimes even getting into dark places. But, as Jesus said, ““Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! 38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! [And] ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”
